So I think the front part of out brain is the part that is generally understood to control out personality, thoughts, ideas and decision making processes so I suppose that is the major contribution. Although complex relationships with friends and loved ones probably require use of your other senses too such as sight, sound (and smell!) which is controlled by the back.

Scientists think they know which part of the brain controls which function or emotion.
However the Brain is a very complex organ and people who have suffered brain damage do have the ability to have ther brain rewire itself to regain what was lost in terms of some functionality.

I would agree with the two below but also your memory and past experiences determine who you might like when you first meet them. Unfortunately, as humans we do judge people when we meet them no matter how hard we try not to, and if you meet someone who is like someone you knew before that you had a bad experience with, you probably won;t like them when you first meet them (obviously that may change later).
