        My favourite scientist is a probably Sir Martyn Poliakoff! He works at Nottingham and looks like a crazy professor with big white hair etc. But some of his work is really really cool and he also uses light.

        I wanted to be a scientist as I loved science in my A levels and during my degree, I loved being in the lab but I wanted to be the person who made the discoveries!! I also wanted to help the world and chemistry isn’t very environmentally friendly, so I wanted to work on making it better for the world and helping to stop us run out of oil. So all of that meant being a scientist made sense 🙂

        I want to win because I love doing things like this. I want to do science communication as a job and I love helping to inspire you guys and helping people understand science and the research that goes on. Winning would confirm that I’m good at it and give me more confidence to go for it 😀

        If I win, I will definitely be in touch with the Oxford Academy as I have seen you guys on here quite a few times and you’ve been fab. Plus you all keep asking 😉
