        I think this is probably the computer for me! Imagine a world without a computer now! It has made so many things possible and my job would be so much harder without one. Everything would be slower, we wouldn’t be able to spread the word about our research as easily or analyse our data!
        I also wouldn’t be able to be part of this event!

        For my research – the PCR machine, to enable polymerase chain reactions to be done, for sure! The combination of the invention of the technique and modern thermocyclers to carry it out is incredible.

        The best ever though? That’s a tough question. I think I will go with the printing press. Without it, ideas could never spread anything close to as fast as they did after. Typically religious texts were the major copied text without the printing press, but all sorts of things could be spread after it.

        The internet! I think the world would be a very different place without it.
