Right at the end of my A-levels so I was about 18. It was soooo hard to choose!

It wasn’t until I was 17 which I think compared to most this is quite late. I could never decide what to do since I enjoyed all of the sciences. It is very hard to choose a subject when you are young and I think enjoying it is very important, not just choosing it because you think it will make you rich later.

I bounce all over the place really.

Ultimately I went “all the science… and engineering too please” for my undergraduate degree, which contained biology, chemistry, maths and physics, and some engineering thrown in for good measure. Was good fun. Had lectures on all sorts from things like grades of steel that you would ideally like to use for bioreactors (that would be 316L, but you might consider the cheaper 304 for structural support) through to physical biochemistry and analysing the structure of proteins.

In terms of research, I have done research projects in four different disciplines so far and have no real intention of stopping – I see boundaries between sciences as advisory rather than a limit.

So I would say, what is my chosen science? Gotta catch them all! 😀
