Haha thanks always good to have support. Sadly it’s made mostly of carbon so probably wouldn’t taste too great and I wouldn’t recommend tasting it. There is a whole area of chemistry around making flavours though but companies have to do a lot of tests to check they’re safe to eat. Also everyone knows peanut butter flavour icecream is the best..
I actually used to work for a company who made flavours and fragrances for foods Ruth! We mainly made molecules that were natural and on a list of molecules thought of as safe for use in food so we never had to do our own testing of molecules. Since there is a push in the community for “natural flavours” etc. they aren’t technically unnatural – very clever!
Me too but I worked in the fragrance department so know somewhat less about the flavours. I have ended up in a lot of debates about “natural” flavours though :/
