I have never cheated but I have had some students that copied an assignment. It made me feel frustrated as it wasn’t worth very much and it would have been much more helpful for them to do it honestly so I could find out which parts they found difficult! I think it is easy to become stressed with exams and work and forget that they are not always as important as we think it is much more important to work hard, enjoy learning and to be nice 🙂
I know people who have cheated in exams at university and it never benefits them! The people I know have struggled in the jobs they got after uni as they aren’t sure about how to get through life without cheating! It’s always better to be honest as the only person you’re cheating is yourself if you cheat in my opinion.
No and we run all work submitted through plagiarism detection software. In the UK there is an increasing problem with report writing/revision services
If you pass because you cheated you will get caught out at the next level or by your employer expecting certain knowledge. One day I expect homework help websites will get hacked adn release data on Wiki Leaks or something like that – I guess everyone who cheated will get caught soon enough
Work hard and get the grades that reflect your ability if the only way to be authentic
I haven’t cheated in exams, and I don’t know anyone who has. I have also worked as an invigilator for the last few years, ensuring that university exams remain intact. The only things I’ve dealt with are nothing to do with cheating – e.g. one student managed to cut themselves or something and ended up trying to turn their exam paper pink; on another occasion a decision was taken to clean the roof in an incredibly noisy manner during an exam…
